The House Agriculture Committee Ranking Member David Scott (GA-13) and Chairman Glenn GT Thompson (PA-15) launched an online portal to solicit Farm Bill feedback from Members of the House of Representatives, regardless of membership on the House Committee on Agriculture. Both the House and Senate Armed Services Committees are postponing markups for the FY24 National Defense Authorization Act (). HASC had previously announced that it would hold markups during the month of May. According to Politico, SASC also delayed its plans due to the debt-limit standoff. HASC Ranking Member Adam Smith (D-WA) released a statement on the postponement, urging Republicans to raise the debt ceiling and to get back to the regular order of business and markup the defense bill in committee.
